i start to think about all the crazy stuff that transpires on this planet.
we have all seen shows and heard stories or maybe even witnessed events that don't add up.
A mystery is exactly what we have here, and we must be comfortable with the fact that we will never know it all. I personally find life much more interesting dancing with the mystery, as opposed to being a prisoner of my ego's predictable thought patterns.
I'm really glad you had your moment. I had mine, and it was just the beginning of a hopefully lifelong process of joyful discovery and growth. Here's to your new way of seeing things!

the reason i asked this is because i'm going to the funeral of a man who wasn't a jw.
my mother-in-law has lived in the same neighborhood as him for years and knows his wife.
i asked her if she was going attend the funeral service.

That's cool, man. I express a belief in something higher which, by the way, I received by asking and while a dyed in the wool grade A skeptic, and you assume I am some drooling faith junkie.
I respect the hardcore skeptic, like yourself possibly, while feeling contempt for folks who believe what has been handed to them without investigation. That being said, I have received and, at this moment, continue to see evidence in my own soul that there is more at work than what our eyeballs can see.

You see, when someone has an experience that can't be verified by the five physical senses, or even if it can but the trolls were not there to see it, the trolls quickly proclaim that that person is crazy or living in a dream world. so, the auto manufacturers came up with a glorified box of charcoal that "filters" out the pollutants (simultaneously making the energy output less efficient requiring yet more fuel) called a catalytic converter.. most cars' converter lasts about 10 years.. .
i'm driving a honda accord from 1998. the coverter has given up the ghost and i don't pass the nox tests.. so.... i can't renew my registration and have to spend about $1700 to replace that stupid box of charcoal.. .
Autopartswarehouse.com has them with prices starting at $80. Usually, a few phone calls will find you a garage willing to install customer-supplied parts. This job normally should take less than an hour, putting your total at less than $200. Good luck.
was watching abc world news and they showed the religions/denominations with most increase and those that are experiencing decreases.. the j.w.
's was number 1 on increase while most of the larger main stream churches where losing members.. they have already posted a link on the news website...will post it in just a few..
I'm pretty sure they are only growing in places where they have to first teach their converts to read.
even those that no longer believe in "god", i wonder, do you ever ever think of god, believing possibly he may exist?.
for those that do believe in god, do you feel you have more of a relationship than when you were a witness?.
Several times a day. Life is so much better when my selfish ego is not the everything that it wants to be. And, yes, I feel a much stronger connection with It than while a JW slave.

Crazycate--These guys are giving good advice. Some bitterness is generally unavoidable in this circumstance, but like any "negative" feeling, it has the capacity to change you for the better if it is faced head on and accepted for what it is and why it is there. I personally try to take on the "detached observer" perspective and let emotions coarse through me whenever possible. Using it as fuel for personal ambitions, as mentioned above, is bound to be productive and will quickly restore the balance in your mind, helping you to not feel so cheated. Best wishes.
no call to invite me to a committee meeting...no notification of deciding i should be df'd....no telling my jw wife of the announcement...not a chance to appeal what i did not even know what was going on...my mini-serve son is devasted....he even researched it....told me to go to page 153-154 of the od book...never heard of it but it is a green hardback given to all who are to be baptized.
wow...the elders broke every rule in this book as to my case.... i have no respect for these men that can take away your jw family without even telling you they are going to.
my jw son has now begged me to meet with my committee...even though there is prob zero chance they can reverse the decision...that chance is from when they let you know...and you have to appeal by letter within 7 days (i cant make this stuff up!!
